About the Team:

Team 4433 now has 10 students and 4 mentors and coaches. We have grown a lot as a team in the past year. The following are short bio's of each team member and mentor.

Kaitlyn-

My name is Kaitlyn.  I’m in 11th grade.  I enjoy drawing, writing, and reading.  I’m in JCL, algorithmics, and SADD.  I joined robotics because I had a lot of fun last year and knew it would be fun this year.  After high school, I plan on going to college and majoring marine biology.

Nick-

I’m Nick and I’m in 9th grade.  I joined Robotics because I felt it would be fun and gets me interacting with other people.  I love to build with my Legos and read.  The clubs I’m in is Robotics, Science Olympiad, and social studies club.  I want to go to a nice college to be an archaeologist.  I also want to get an internship in archaeology.

Taylor-

My name is Taylor and I’m in 9th grade.  I joined the Robotics team because in 8th grade, the High School Robotics team came to the Middle School and started a Robotics club that got me interested in the FTC.  I am in Robotics club and collect and build model cars and motorcycles.  I want to be a Plummer or go to college at Penn State.

Mel-

My name is Mel and I am in 11th grade. This is my 2nd year in robotics and I love it. I joined robotics because it looked like fun and I love solving problems. I am currently in student council, Latin club, and algorithmics. In my free time I like to read and play guitar. After high school I plan on attending an ROTC program to become an officer in the Air Force. In the Air Force I would like to be able to fly UAVS. (Unmanned Aeriel Vehicles).

Austin-

I am currently in 10th grade.  I joined robotics last year because I always loved to put things together and I thought it would be fun to make something that actually did something.  I am glad that I joined because it was an awesome experience.  I am hoping that this year is a success as well.

Ana-

My name is Ana and I am in 11th grade. In my free time I do chorus, student council, and algorithmics. I also love to read and write. I joined robotics because I love the atmosphere, and I also appreciate the scientific and design processes. I was also in the club last year and had a lot of fun. I want to be a green architect when I grow up.

Noah-

My name is Noah and I am currently in 11th grade. I joined robotics last year because it looked interesting and fun, and am now continuing for another year. In my spare time I enjoy doing karate, riding bike, and tinkering with various mechanical objects. Other than Robotics I participate in the FFA and am a council member of my church’s youth group. After high school I would like to go to college and major in endocrinology to eventually specialize in pediatric diabetes.

Tyler-

My name is Tyler. I am in 9th grade and this is my first year in robotics. I joined robotics because I am interested in computers and electronics. I am part of my church’s youth group, work part time at my dad’s business, and am part of a co-op. In my spare time I like to program, play video games, play airsoft, and debate. After high school I would like to go to law school and become a corporate attorney.

Steph-

My name is Stephanie and I’m a junior in high school.  This is my 2nd year doing robotics and I absolutely love it!  Honestly, I have no clue what I want to do when I grow up, but robotics is fun for me.  I really enjoy what I do here, and I enjoy being with the people here.  Outside of school and robotics I like to read and write (especially writing).

Ingrid-

My name is Ingrid and I am a junior this year. I have been building robots since 6th grade and I started team #4433 in my 9th grade year. I also teach the middle school robotics club for 7th and 8th graders to create interest in the team. I also enjoy programming and have taken computer science classes. I want to become a mechanical or robotics engineer because I love building things and solving problems. I hope to go to MIT or Lehigh University for college.

The whole team would like to thank all of our mentors because without them, we would not be able to build all of the amazing robots that we do on this team. They have put in countless hours for this team and we all respect their expertise. Below is a biography of our mentors.

James R.- Coach

James Rumbaugh is a hydrogeologist and computer programmer with over 25 years of experience in the environmental field. He has a Bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University and a Masters degree from Penn State, both in geology. He has developed software for numerical modeling of groundwater flow and is teaching the robotics team about RobotC.

Marge R.- Coach

Marge Rumbaugh is a Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) and has over 25 years' experience in government contract management. She has a Bachelor's degree from Susquehanna University and a Masters' degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. Marge helps keep the robotics team organized by managing scheduling, paperwork, and logistics. She is also the team photographer.

Mr. Szigeti- Team Mentor-

Mr. Albert- Team Mentor

He is an engineer for Carpenter Technology

Holdon- The team mascot

Holdon the cat lives in the Agriculture department down the hall from where the robotics team meets. Sometimes he visits the team and helps whenever he can. He likes to lounge on the playing field and bats at the rings.

Plerry (Chubs)- The team mascot

My parents adopted me at a toy store.  That day, a lady fell off of a ladder.  My parents laughed and I knew I would be loved.  However, my weird aunt was respectful and didn't laugh and I knew if I fell of a ladder she wouldn't laugh and would help me.  I am so glad I am a part of the Smokin' Motors robotics team;  I even have a team shirt and wear safety glasses.

When I grow up, I want to be a professional mascot.  My hobbies are riding around on robots and playing catch with my family.
